This is how it all began...
Once upon a few years ago I found myself racing around at the last minute TRYING to purchase gifts for my children. I was completely stressed out TRYING to purchase things for my kids that they didn't even need or want. I found myself in the aisles of target talking to myself out loud. "Well, Kira has 4 gifts so you need to get 4 for Presley too. As I drove home that night I said it. I remember where I was when I was like, "I. AM. DONE." I was done feeling like crap about buying and spending and knowing it was just empty calories. In all honesty I could have been stressed for a number of things, there could have been many contributing factors. Christmas time is the busiest time of the year for our little company, I could have not had any tacos in the last 48 hours something was definitely off. Haha.
I decided in that moment that I was going to spend my money on something that mattered to me. Since I got to choose, my inner gypsy piped up and said WE. ARE. OUTTA. HERE. It was in that moment our tradition was born. Santa doesn't bring gifts, nor do we get things for each other any more... Christmas is about making memories. We have taken our kids somewhere every year ever since. I found myself able to book something sometimes for even less money I was spending on stuff. Ask my kids what they got before we started going places and they couldn't tell ya. Try it. Ask yours, shoot I found myself asking myself. What did you get 4 years ago? *sigh*Â
But ask my little ones where we have been for Christmas and you'll need to set aside an hour, but I do promise it will be a very entertaining one as it is filled with some of the funniest, most embarrassing, heart warming, sometimes disastrous stories that are forever ours. This year is no exception, but this year my hubby decided to let the camera roll as we sent them searching for the best gift of all... time together. Enjoy.
Love,
Brig
P.S. I know this is just a video of someone else's kids to some, but if you enjoy child like wonder and some Christmas magic I think you will be happy you spent a few minutes with my family this Christmas Eve. Wait til you see the end... It's just the best. Â
